5 Good Roadshow Locations For Your Tour
We talk a lot about passion, loving what we do and having fun while we work, so we thought we’d round up the best of the best and tell you about five of our top events and why they were so much fun to work on (and yes, of course, we are biased and those involving fabulous locations, fast cars, beaches and sunshine are high up on the list!)…
1. Petrovsky Stadium, St Petersburg, Russia
Client: EMC
You only need to look at a picture of this to see why the roadshow crew enjoyed their time there so much! Located on Petrovsky Island, an island in the Malaya Neva River, the complex includes the Petrovsky Stadium, which is used for sports events, entertainment, music concerts and festivals. The enormous complex is connected via bridges to the adjacent Krestovsky and Petrogradsky islands, and sits about 6km from Saint Petersburg’s beautiful city centre, which the crew were also lucky enough to visit.
And the cherry on the cake? After a hard day’s work looking after EMC, the Roadshow Manager was invited to a Papa Roach concert at the stadium that evening, he tells me it was fantastic and being in such an amazing venue made it a night to remember!
2. CarFest South, Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, UK
Client: NEFF
NEFF chose the family-friendly CarFest to showcase their lifestyle truck this year. The weekend event, created by Chris Evans, is a Bestival for car lovers, with a huge dose of car, truck and track shows along with activities for the kids, plenty for foodie-lovers and an impressive line up of artists performing on stage.
Despite the challenges of bringing a truck onto a farm and setting up in a field (need I say more!), the end result looked fantastic. Keen to join in with the festival vibe, NEFF wanted to create a truck with a homely, festival feel, complete with a garden set up around the truck, cooking demonstrations and freshly baked cakes for all the visitors.
And the team had a great time too. When you’re working at a festival you can’t help but enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is in a great mood, you meet fantastic people who are all enjoying themselves and your working day is accompanied by music from some of the best bands around, it all makes for a brilliant weekend.
3. Frankfurt Motor Show, Frankfurt, Germany
Client: Range Rover
Range Rover had an impressive set up at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with the truck, a café, a 4x4 track and free runners to help create a real show-like atmosphere.
The audience loved it and the team did too – the Roadshow Managers even got a behind the scenes tour of the show before it opened to the public, with the opportunity to see their favourite cars, speak to the experts and even sit at the wheel of the most expensive and fastest cars around – they were in their element!
4. Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai
Client: Ortho Clinical Diagnostics
As a provider of solutions for medical communities and laboratories around the world, the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress was the perfect event for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics to showcase their latest technology solutions for screening, diagnosing, monitoring and identifying diseases as early as possible.
Arab Health has a reputation for delivering the highest quality of continuing medical education to medical professionals in the region, and attracts more than 13,000 delegates to its conference so it goes without saying that having an exhibition truck there ensured a constant high footfall through our doors.
Although the event, venue, team and numbers were amazing, being Brits there was another huge factor that secured this event a place on our list – the fantastic weather!
5. Rimini, Italy
Client: Ortho Clinical Diagnostics
And we have another entry for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics! Following the success of the Middle East Roadshow, they continued their tour into Europe, stopping at the beautiful Rimini in Italy where they hosted an event right on the beach, complete with a party dome and DJ. The event worked well both during the day and through to the evening, and the relaxed, fun vibe was a refreshing change to the often more formal conferences and events in the medical industry.
It was also probably the most beautiful journey to an event we have ever had - the Italian coastline was breathtakingly beautiful as we travelled to and from the event.
