EMS – The Roadshow Experts make history as first roadshow truck agency to become a member of isla

Pioneering roadshow specialists EMS – The Roadshow Experts, operating from Chester (UK) and Dubai (UAE) has reinforced its commitment to sustainable events by officially becoming a member of environmental action-driven network isla.

EMS has an enduring record of putting sustainability at the centre of its operations. As well as longstanding internal sustainability processes, EMS’s work continues to deliver positive environmental impacts by reducing the travel emissions and waste associated with fixed-site events.

EMS chief executive Keith Austin said: “Sustainability has been one of our key focuses for many years. As well as donating both time and money to community wildlife projects, we consistently advocate ways to reduce waste at events and aim to recommend modular fit-outs wherever possible.

“It’s a source of pride that one of our tours saved more than 17,000kg of CO2 emissions by massively reducing the number of people needing to travel by taking the experience to them directly. That’s the equivalent of an aeroplane flying once around the world. On top of that, our interior fit-outs are typically used more than 50 times a year, with many clients changing very little over the course of multi-year tours.”

Mr Austin added: “We’re delighted to be the first roadshow truck agency to work with isla. Their core message of collaboration over competition strikes a chord with our own ethos and we look forward to sharing and learning sustainability knowledge and skills with our fellow members.”

EMS’s sustainability record and environmental actions include:

  • Donations totalling more than £7,500 to Cheshire Wildlife Trust
  • Working with Cheshire West and Chester council on a five-year lake and nature conservation
    project, fully funded by EMS
  • Installing recycled furniture and energy-saving light sensors in its new office
  • Segregating and recycling all waste generated at its head office
  • Delivering environmental awareness training to all staff
  • Offsetting all its emissions and using Euro 6 trucks wherever possible

As a member of isla, EMS will now work on achieving its future ambitions of sustainable events, including being the first roadshow company to use an electric cab and re-using up to 75% of its interior fit-outs.
