MMR roadshow launched to tackle measles outbreak

A dangerous measles outbreak prompted the urgent delivery of a mobile immunisation programme in this East London borough.

On-the-spot vaccinations were offered in a friendly but clinical environment and awareness was raised about the importance of immunisation for protecting communities.

- 878 children immunised in 42 days
- 21 children immunised per site, on average
- 60 schools and nurseries visited plus a high-profile awareness raising day at a local Tesco store
